Weight Loss Secrets That Work

Has it amazed you when a famous personality has cut down on flab, and, in a matter of months, gotten themselves a chiselled body that seems to defy nature? How often have you dismissed it to expensive trainers and surgeries? It must be often enough, in all likelihood.

There are quite a few dieting secrets that can save you the thousands of dollars needed to hire a personal trainer. This article is about five of the simple steps you can take to make your diet truly effective!

Avoid carbs before bedtime

Carbohydrate-rich food at the end of the day is not a particularly good idea. Yes, that means that you need to avoid food like pasta, cereals and bread as much as possible at night. You need carbs for energy so have them when you need to through the day, but ban them from your diet at least a couple of hours before bedtime.

Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day

Having a lot of water in a day is extremely helpful on two counts – it keeps your body hydrated in a way unmatched by anything else, and it also makes you feel ‘full’ to resist the urge to grab a bite.  Keep a bottle or two of water at an arm’s length to make this easier than it might sound!

Regulate your diets and your workouts

Going on an extreme diet/workout regime for a short span of time will actually do you more harm than good. You need to make your body adjust to your food (energy) intake and the amount of energy it expends, regularly. If you set up a routine for yourself that you follow in a disciplined manner, your body will respond to it better. There are no temporary fixes for it!

Stay away from ‘whites’, use whole grains!

No diet can be completely free of carbohydrates, without being rather unhealthy. However, you ought to avoid refined (‘white’) varieties of carbohydrates such as white rice and flour. Instead, you should try whole grain cereals as a healthier alternative.

Intensive exercise is the way to go

Taking a leisurely stroll in the morning may be your idea of getting a breath of fresh air and burning some calories, but you need to do more.

Making your heart beat at a faster rate than normal for at least half an hour is the most effective way to approach exercise. Try walking faster, jogging, biking or swimming, and don’t give up the moment you feel tired!

Dieting is as much about your mind as it is about your body. You need to have a firm resolve to channel all your efforts in the right direction. After all, your diet can’t be an exercise in futility!
