Hello, I was just browsing through to see the formula to calculate BMI when I came across your comment.

If you don't mind me saying so, you seem very uptight about what is basically just a number that loosely defines the border between "healthy" and "overweight". Please don't be offended by that comment, I understand the need to keep on top of your health... but don't panic or anything. The BMI number is very vague and varies greatly depending on your age and body type, for example a 25 year old male bodybuilder may be 6' 2" and weigh 235lbs which puts him solidly in the "obese" category, despite the fact that he's running less than %10 body fat!

There are a lot of factors that come into play with BMI, just remember that it's a very loose guide, and if you have genuine concerns about your health and weight, talk to your doctor. He or she can give you a much more accurate analysis of your body. Your doctor (and sometimes even your local wellness center or YMCA) do body composition analysis which uses skin-fold measurements or body density measurements to determine your body composition much more accurately. I had a skin-fold analysis done with calipers which gave me a very accurate idea of my condition, as well as certain places on my body that were in better shape than others.

Whatever you chose to do, I personally recommend you do what feels best to your body. Don't measure yourself to someone else's standards, and take good care of yourself.
