Crash dieting is not healthy. It can disrupt normal metabolism and cause a weight gain later. If you are trying to slim for fashion, reconsider your goals. Think of long-term health benefits. It did not take a fortnight to gain excess weight. So it cannot take a fortnight to lose it. Try to avoid diets that promise you a quick fix.

weight loss motivation
It's very true that crash diets don't work. You need to find your motivation to exercise and eat healthily and maintain that motivation.
Body Workout
Indeed crash dieting can only lead to weight gain. Losing weight is not an easy job. If you want to lose weight and maintain it, you have to work on it. Even most surgeries aren't long-term. After losing weight from whatever method used, you have to maintain it or you'll go back to your old self again.

Crash dieting - super obese
Which is one of my major concern's for ABC's Extreme Makeover Weight Loss. each Monday at 10 some super obese person is shown losing 100's of pounds in just a year's time. Is that healthy? Normal? Safe? What are they doing to drop that quick AND what are the long term consequences of such rapid weight loss? seems terribly sketchy and unhealthy
