Sleep can lessen your craving for sugary foods

WebMDHealth reports that sleep and sleep disruption may influence our weight. How much or how little we sleep influence the production of hormones leptin and ghrelin. Leptin makes you feel satisfied after you eat, while ghrelin stimulates appetite. If you do not get enough sleep, leptin levels go down and ghrelin levels go up. This may cause you to overeat and gain weight.

According to the study conducted by the University of Chicago in Illinois, when 12 healthy men were deprived of sleep for 2 days, their desire for calorie-dense foods increased by 45%. Interesting, isn't it?
