Dairy foods have a positive impact on weight loss

Dairy Foods

In a 24-week study published on April 16, 2004 in Obesity Research adults on a reduced-calorie diet who ate 3-4 servings of dairy foods each day lost significantly more weight than those who also cut calories but consumed few or no dairy foods.

The study indicates that 3-4 daily servings of milk, cheese or yogurt help people lose more weight. The mix of essential nutrients in dairy foods, including calcium and protein, appears to speed up metabolism and improve the body's ability to burn fat.

A new study did not confirm

Unfortunately, a new study did not confirm these findings. After six months of dieting and exercising, the high-dairy group lost about the same amount of weight as another group members of which also restricted calories, took exercises but ate only one serving of dairy food a day.

Nevertheless, dairy foods are essential for your health. You can have three or four servings of dairy food daily and do well with your weight loss.
